Transformation Diaries-Week Six

Just two more weeks left in the Bionic Body Transformation Challenge! I'm sure all of the challengers are anxious to see what the final results are, not only for themselves, but for everyone (since this is a competition). Regardless of who "wins," everyone who stepped up their game in the last six weeks is really a winner, because it's all about small changes towards living a healthier life, that can eventually lead to big results.

Let's find out how week six went!

Week Six Questions: 

1. Tell us about some of your favorite meals and snacks that you've tried as part of the challenge?

2. What would you like other people to know about doing a transformation type challenge?

Celeste N.

A1: Breakfast: 2 eggs with half an avocado and a mixed green salad. Lunch or Dinner: Taco Wraps: Grassfed beef, homemade organic salsa and guacamole, wrapped in a collard green!                      

A2: You have to really want it, stay focused, and be disciplined. Every meal and exercise counts towards having a better body!

A1: I actually really like vanilla protein, flax milk, greek yogurt, and a banana. It tastes like a banana milkshake! I also learned how to make fresh chicken soup with real, fresh ingredients (no more cans!).

A2: People should know that the transformation is for themselves. They should push hard, but at their pace. My final advice: Take your protein, find workouts that are fun, and always stretch!

A1: Snacks: Baked kale chips. Frozen banana bites with peanut butter.  Popcorn.  Raw almonds.

Meals: Ground Turkey Lettuce Cups. Chicken salad made with greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise. And all sorts of roasted veggies: butternut squash, broccoli, eggplant, brussels sprouts.

A2: This is the first transformation contest that I have done, and it's great motivation to keep exercising, and eating as clean as possible, knowing that lots of other people are in it with you. I've also gotten lots of expert advice and tips not only what to eat/not eat, but when to eat them (from Kim and all the trainers). It's great to be part of such a positive community that is united by health and fitness.

A1: I made Spaghetti Squash Bolognese (from the Practical Paleo book). Thanks Dara!  It was easy to make, a very clean meal and super yummy!!! I have discovered a lot of new snacks, because that was where the flood gates of crap food would find their way into my mouth. I love "SuperSeeds" from Whole Foods, they are pumpkin seeds and the Sea Salt flavor is my favorite...YUMMY! 

I tried and enjoyed sauerkraut during this transformation challenge. There is no way I would have eaten that a couple of years ago.  But I know the sauerkraut is good for me, so I gave it a go.

A2: A transformation challenge is an awesome way to get started making healthy changes. In a challenge, there are other people who are working towards similar goals, so it helps you stay tuned in to making good choices and being consistent. By the end of the challenge, you have spent 8 weeks eliminating food that isn't good for you from your daily diet, and now it will be easier to stay away from that food after the challenge is done! The transformation challenge is a great way to kick bad eating habits, create new interests with eating and exercising, and staying consistent with good choices, because you can see the results of all your hard work in your body!

My advice: Just give your body a chance...when you fuel it with the right food and exercise and STAY consistent with it, your body will reward you!
